$350 - All Day

$250 - 1/2 Day (Under 4 hours)

The West Branch of the Penobscot is a large, powerful river loaded with wild Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout. This trip is designed for the intermediate-advanced angler who is also very comfortable wading. We are often casting dry flies at longer distances and fishing in areas with limited backcast room. While there are spots that require no wading or longer casts, they are more pressured and I avoid them entirely if possible. We are looking for solitude after all, and my favorite spots are also the ones most don’t bother fishing.

Guided fishing is available May - September

West Branch Wade & Fish

Trout Ponds & the Hex Hatch

$350 - Trout Pond Full Day

$250 - Trout Pond 1/2 Day (Under 4 hours)

The Katahdin region is home to numerous ponds where our native Brook Trout thrive. This trip is for those who are interested in learning more about how to fly fish for trout in a stillwater environment at various times of year. Whether you are an expert, or have never cast a fly rod before, you’re going to be surprised by how much you learn about this style of fishing.

Guided fishing is available after ice-out (usually in late April-early May) through September 30th, and some ponds stay open through November. I do offer extended season fishing on select ponds from October 1st - November 30th.

The Hex Hatch occurs in early July and is a specialized pond trip for the intermediate-advanced angler. We are usually on the water fishing from 7pm-10pm, but it can also be included at the end of a full day fishing trip. If being on the water after dark casting big dries to rising trout interests you, contact me directly for more details on this unforgettable experience.

$250 - Hex Hatch only

Pond & River Combo

$400 - Full Day Only

If you want to get a taste of both pond and river fishing, I’ll take you to some of my favorite spots on the West Branch and a nearby trout pond, all in one day. A day like this can be long, and is for those looking to get the most out of a day of guided fishing. If you’re here during the first 2 weeks of July, this can include a 1/2 day afternoon on the West Branch & Hex hatch outing that same night.

Smallmouth Bass

$350 - All Day

$250 - 1/2 Day (Under 4 hours)

The East Branch of the Penobscot River has fantastic Smallmouth fishing during the summertime, and is a great alternative to trout/salmon fishing when the water warms up. If we have hot and dry conditions during July and August, trout and salmon fishing may not be the best choice. On this trip we will take mountain bikes (yes, bicycles!) alongside this scenic river to fish the where the trophy smallies are. This is my personal favorite thing to do in the summer. It has all the beauty and solitude of fly fishing on trout water that we love. Be prepared to wet-wade in water shoes and a few miles of biking to get to the best pools.

Small Stream

$350 - Full Day Only

Referred to as ‘blue lines’, small streams bring us to the heart of fly fishing in many ways. We are lucky to have an abundance of these here. A guided day on a small stream may include hiking up to 2 miles both on and off trails, with (sometimes) tricky casting due to the small size of the streams and vegetation growing on the banks. Catching these beauties on a dry fly with a light rod is a joy, and a favorite of many. I have a selection of rods suited for this style of fishing for you to enjoy, if desired. This is a summer/early fall activity and, if we’re lucky, may find some wild mushrooms and/or blueberries while out in the woods.
