Your Katahdin Area Fly Fishing Guide

I share the same story as many of us who love to fish. My father put a rod with a worm and bobber in my hand at a young age with hopes I would learn to love the sport like him. I was born on a small pond near Sebago lake before we moved to a suburb of Portland where I went to school and grew up. I cherish my childhood memories of us driving all over Maine to various campgrounds and state parks in our blue Chevy Blazer with the canoe strapped on top (I still use this canoe today...). Up until I went to college in Orono, I stuck to spinning rods primarily fishing for Bass and other warm water fish.

Something changed when I started fly fishing. I fell in love with the casting, learning about flies and how to tie them, and spent my free time exploring the places I could find trout and salmon. Those who know me can attest to the countless hours on the water, tying flies, and how intensely I based my life around fly fishing through those years. After my first trip to the West Branch of the Penobscot, I knew I wanted to live as close as I could to it and eventually guide there when I had enough experience.

I’m very proud to call Millinocket my home now. It’s a beautiful place with even better people that share love and respect for the land and wildlife surrounding us. I was fortunate enough to spend my first few years in the area living/working at a local sporting camp. I hope to show you a good time on the water, help you become a better angler, and learn about this beautiful part of Maine.
